OutBack Critters

Welcome!

I love you my Mike. Some day when you are better and are able to come home, you will be able to read here  - all about your struggles and improvements, and all about how much people really do  care about  you - not to mention - all of the nice things, that your family and friends have had to say about you - MY VERY SPECIAL MAN.  And once you are home, you will hopefully see how hard that I have really been trying - to take care of things around here, just like you always did. In your favorite words - '' GET THINGS ROCKIN. "  Or as I like to say - " GET R DONE."

Just wanted to let you know that I cut a ton of spinach tonight out of your garden, I am having some now in a salad - yummo! Tommorrow I will weed your garden and I have to get someone out here to mow our lawn. Dont worry my Mike, I WILL TAKE CARE OF THINGS HERE...

What another long day, agian. Tommy stopped by this morning to say hello, on his way to Milwaukee, to a friends funeral. How sad...Work was fine, but the work doesnt end once I punch out. Anyhow, once home, I made a few important phone calls ( dont have time for anything BUT important calls now-a-days...) Then I proceeded to weed our extremely weedy garden, then watered it. It looks very nice now, my Mike would be very happy. In the next day or two, my good friend Lori is coming over to mow our lawn, it really  needs it, my Mike would be horrified to see it in its current condition. I know what some of you might be thinking...he just left home a couple of days ago, but you have to remember, he never left the bed or the couch, we couldnt get him to come outside the last four days or so...So...he didnt know what his lawn looked liked... I am doing my very best my Mike!

Hi sweetheart, you will be happy to hear ( well you know already, cuz I told when I visited with you tonight ) that your lawn is looking AWESOME. Our friend Lori came over this morning and mowed and weed eated...Our yard looks so nice, just like you would have manicured it. I wish you could see it, you would be so happy. I love you sweetheart, you will be better soon, I promise.

BURN BABY BURN

Well my name's John Lee Pettimore
Same as my daddy and his daddy before
You hardly ever saw Grandaddy down here
He only came to town about twice a year
He'd buy a hundred pounds of yeast and some copper line
Everybody knew that he made moonshine
Now the revenue man wanted Grandaddy bad
He headed up the holler with everything he had
It's before my time but I've been told
He never came back from Copperhead Road

Now Daddy ran the whiskey in a big block Dodge
Bought it at an auction at the Mason's Lodge
Johnson County Sheriff painted on the side
Just shot a coat of primer then he looked inside
Well him and my uncle tore that engine down
I still remember that rumblin' sound
Well the sheriff came around in the middle of the night
Heard mama cryin', knew something wasn't right
He was headed down to Knoxville with the weekly load
You could smell the whiskey burnin' down Copperhead Road

I volunteered for the Army on my birthday
They draft the white trash first,'round here anyway
I done two tours of duty in Vietnam
And I came home with a brand new plan
I take the seed from Colombia and Mexico
I plant it up the holler down Copperhead Road
Well the D.E.A.'s got a chopper in the air
I wake up screaming like I'm back over there
I learned a thing or two from ol' Charlie don't you know
You better stay away from Copperhead Road

Copperhead Road
Copperhead Road
Copperhead Road
