OutBack Critters

Welcome!

In Memory of my "unofficial stepdad" of 34 years ~ I Love You Jim!!

It is with much sadness, that after over a year of much struggle, I am typing of Jim Kellogg's passing. ( My mom's significant other of over thirty four years and my unofficial step dad as well... ) He and mom had been through an unimaginable amount of ups and downs these past months. ( More downs then any thing - Mom gives a new meaning to the word care giver - and Jim would have agreed!! ) Jim's issues included, but were not limited to - diabetes, high blood pressure, congestive heart failure, along with two amputations in a matter of months...Mom honored every one of Jim's wishes, most importantly, being able to remain and die - at home. It is truly a blessing as Jim is no longer in pain...Thanks to mom, the health care workers involved, along with  hospice personnel - Jim proved the doctor's wrong... He far surpassed the six month sentence he had been given. I also want to give a huge thanks to Tammie, Jim's daughter - who was there when ever my mom, or Jim needed her...She picked up Jim many days ( along with her son Eric, Jim's grandson ) to take him out for country rides, fishing trips, and no doubt some mischief along the way as well!! Because of Tammie, Jim had some great little get a ways, which also enabled my mom to have some ( much needed ) time for her self as well. Rest in peace Jim. We will all see you one day soon...

Obit...

I keep a close watch on this heart of mine
I keep my eyes wide open all the time.
I keep the ends out for the tie that binds
Because you're mine,
I walk the line

I find it very, very easy to be true
I find myself alone when each day is through
Yes, I'll admit I'm a fool for you
Because you're mine,
I walk the line

As sure as night is dark and day is light
I keep you on my mind both day and night
And happiness I've known proves that it's right
Because you're mine,
I walk the line

You've got a way to keep me on your side
You give me cause for love that I can't hide
For you I know I'd even try to turn the tide
Because you're mine,
I walk the line
